Home > IIA SL Chapter appoints new Ex-co and Sub-committees.

The Annual General Meeting of the IIA SL Chapter held recently marked the appointment of its new Executive Committee and Sub-committee members. During 2021 – 2023 term, the outgoing committee delivered a significant impact through their achievements in continued professional development (CPD), advocacy, and strengthening the membership base and member relations.

Education – A key milestone was the flagship event, CIA Forum held in 2022. Training sessions included the IPPF webinar series, webinars conducted by MOU partners and other IIA affiliates in India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia which were mainly offered free of charge where local and foreign experts took part as resource personnel.

Advocacy – An overall advocacy plan was developed under the assistance from IIA global and mature affiliates, with activities planned for Corporates, Public Sector, as well as Educational Institutions. MOUs were signed with ISACA SL chapter and, tuition providers for the CIA certification: Academy of Finance and Alpha Business School. The “SL IA Leaders” WhatsApp Group was launched with the aim of rapidly reaching out to the wider base of senior internal auditors.

Member relations – The benefits of membership were promoted through social media and, a feedback mechanism was initiated targeting the members covering various aspects through surveys. The internal audit awareness month was promoted by distributing IIA-branded stickers and coasters. Moreover, webinars were conducted focusing on members’ developmental aspects such as personal branding and other timely topics such as stress management. Thus, well-founded on the committee’s achievements during 2021 – 2023 term, the new membership will be taking over the execution of the new strategies for 2024 and beyond. We welcome them on board and wish them all the best in their pursuit of a self-sustaining local chapter with full compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements and continuing a healthy relationship with IIA global and regional bodies/affiliates.
